It’ll be interesting to see how this disc holds up in a month, 6 months, a year.

One of those albums that reminds you of all of your favorite bands and yet still sounds unique.

The incredible thing about Antarctica is that the musical formula, which could be so ‘80s, steers clear of the silly clichés it could easily fall into.

In addition to these fresh, exciting elements, the album also features some of the most honest, spiritual songs that Martin has written in, well, quite some time.

There’s a rawness and unsteadiness to Bloc Party’s sound which is both their saving grace and greatest shortcoming.

Even longtime Clinic fans may find this more of the same.

The Autumns truly exist in their own frost-laden, wintry wonderland, one that is far beyond the confines of today’s current indie clime.

Most EPs fail with me, but this one just keeps me wanting more.

Loved every second of it.

An album that, when all the stars of your life align, grabs you by the throat and shakes you until you’re wide awake.

For the most part, it’s an adventure that is not as worth taking as all the hype might lead you to think.

Although the album lacks some of the fire that Jones packs into her live performance, I prefer the subtler performances here.

I give it 9 punk power chords, for blistering aggression that makes this an album that is a keeper.

Oysterhead challenges the curse of the rock band fusion and comes out on top, smiling toothy grins.

Part of me is thrilled to hear an album this brilliantly bitter.

However, it’s very fitting that I Am the Portugese Blues sport one of the older style covers, as in many ways, it’s a regression towards the band’s earlier sound.

Unfortunately, the band’s music doesn’t always live up to the promise in Hut’s voice, though thankfully it succeeds 90% of the time.

A must-hear for any fan of dreamy, lazy day music.

If this does turn out to be the band’s last release, then it is a good note to go out on.
