“Movies” Archives

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is not just my least favorite of the “Vengeance” trilogy, but also the weakest.

I think I can honestly say that no other filmmaker’s approach inspires, humbles, or convicts me as much as Tarkovsky’s.

What I realized most watching Café Lumière was just how well Hou captures the inherent mystery of individual human beings.

All in all, a fabulous little gem that deserves much more attention than it’s probably received to this date.

Tarkovsky’s last will and testament, a final summation of all that he believed about filmmaking, as well as spirituality and humanity.

I don’t know who to be more perturbed at.
