Shortly after his death, Satoshi Kon’s family posted these final words on his blog.

Acclaimed anime director Satoshi Kon has passed away at the age of 46.

To attempt to come up with a more detailed plot synopsis is sort of beside the point, and to be honest, I don’t even know if it’s possible.

For those of you looking for anime with substance and depth, plus tons of style and atmosphere, I can’t recommend Satoshi Kon’s latest work highly enough.

It’s a rich film, creating a tapestry of imagery, memory, loss, and desire that’s quite captivating and moving.
