“Acrobat” by Stavesacre

Stavesacre recently announced that their sophomore album, 1997’s Absolutes, will be reissued on vinyl. As a little teaser, the post-hardcore outfit, which boasts members of The Crucified, Neon Horse, CHATTERbOx, Focused, and Scaterd Few, released a cover of U2’s “Acrobat.” With its roiling guitars and impassioned vocals, the penultimate track from 1991’s Achtung Baby is a perfect fit for Mark Salomon and his bandmates.

On a related note, this isn’t the only cover in Stavesacre’s repertoire: the band has previously covered The Cure’s “Fascination Street” (on 1999’s Speakeasy), X’s “The Hungry Wolf” (on 2001’s Collective compilation), and The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” (on the 2025 reissue of (stāvz’ā’kər)).
