Joy Division Announce Massive Concert Box Set

‘Tis the season for elaborate box sets, I guess. First there was Criterion’s Stanley Kubrick collection. Then Cherry Red Records announced a four-disc shoegaze compilation. And now Joy Division have announced Eternal (Live), a massive 14-disc set that contains 16 of the post-punk legends’ live performances.

The performances, which include some that have never been heard or released before, were all sourced from audience cassettes, soundboard tapes, and broadcast recordings, and subsequently mastered at Abbey Road Studios. What’s more, the physical collection also contains two DVDs containing nearly three hours of concert footage as well as a new edit of Malcolm Whitehead’s Joy Division concert film, along with a 16-page booklet featuring photos from Anton Corbijn and Kevin Cummins.

Eternal (Live) will be released on September 25, 2026. Preorders are now available for $139.98. The collection will also be released digitally on Apple Music and other platforms.
