Add Netflix’s Arcane to Your Home Video Collection

Since its first season dropped back in November 2021, Netflix’s Arcane — an animated series inspired by the League of Legends video game — has received near-universal acclaim for its vibrant artwork and animation, steampunk aesthetic, and elaborate world-building. Arcane’s second (and final) season arrives next month, bringing the conflict between the cities of Piltover and Zahn, and sisters Vi and Jinx, to a head.

So now’s the perfect time to add Arcane’s first season to your home video collection, thanks to GKids’ 4K/Blu-ray release of the series. Several editions are currently available, like the 4K and Blu-ray “Steelbook” editions. But a limited “Collector’s Edition” will be released later this month, and includes a host of merchandise along with the series. All of the editions include over three hours of bonus materials, including breakdowns of some of the season’s most pivotal scenes as well as “Making of” footage.

While most of Netflix’s series are streaming only, this isn’t the first time that they’ve ventured into the home video market. Other Netflix titles that have received physical releases include Stranger Things, The Irishman, Lost in Space, BoJack Horseman, Castlevania, and House of Cards. Unfortunately, these physical releases have been inconsistent. For example, only the first two seasons of Stranger Things have been officially released on Blu-ray.
