Amazon’s Reacher Returns for Second Season of Beating Up Bad Guys

Anchored by Alan Ritchson’s performance, the Amazon series is lean, mean, eminently enjoyable late-night popcorn fare.

I enjoyed the first season of Amazon’s Reacher a lot more than I thought I would. As I wrote in my review, “Sometimes, you just want to watch a beefy protagonist who has no qualms smashing bad guys’ heads in while dropping one-liners.”

Anchored by Alan Ritchson’s performance as Jack Reacher, a former military police officer who now travels the country getting into various scrapes and adventures along the way, Reacher is lean, mean, eminently enjoyable late-night popcorn fare. (And that’s true even if, like me, you haven’t read any of Lee Child’s original novels.)

Season two finds Reacher reuniting with some of his former military comrades when one of their own is murdered, and in the process, uncovering a vast conspiracy. (Is there any other kind?)

Reacher’s second season begins streaming on Prime Video on December 15, 2023.
