“Daybreak” by Sven Wunder
The Swedish composer returns with more lush, cinematic arrangements.
It’s really quite simple, you see… when Sven Wunder releases some new music, I press “Play” as quickly as I can. I’ve been a fan of the Swedish composer’s music for awhile now, and his lush compositions and mini-symphonies never fail to delight.
Case in point, the title track from his upcoming album is filled with the sort of swooning cinematic arrangements that I’ve come to expect and love from the man. Clearly hearkening to the sweeping soundtracks of ’60s and ’70s-era cinema (e.g., Ennio Morricone), there’s a definite nostalgic aspect to Wunder’s work, but it always feels fresh and never rote or slavish.
Daybreak will be released by Piano Piano Records on September 26, 2025.
