Dropout Announces New Crowd Control Series

The seventh season of Dropout’s Game Changer is arguably its most ambitious season yet, and one of its best episodes is “Crowd Control.” As its name suggests, the episode features three comedians — Jeff Arcuri, Gianmarco Soresi, and Josh Johnson — doing crowd work, i.e., asking audience members questions about themselves and navigating the resulting minefield of answers.

As is his wont, Game Changer host Sam Reich stacks the odds against the comedians, with audience members bringing up such fraught topics as drug addiction, phobias, and even being attacked by a serial killer. But Arcuri, Soresi, and Johnson rise to the challenge, and though occasionally cringe-inducing, the results are consistently hilarious.

So hilarious, in fact, that Dropout is spinning off a brand new series inspired by the episode. Hosted by Jacquis Neal, Crowd Control follows the same premise as the episode, with groups of comedians asking audience members questions that are, in part, inspired by prompts on their shirts. (Crowd Control is the latest Game Changer spin-off, with the others being Dirty Laundry, Make Some Noise, and Play It By Ear.)

The series promises a pretty impressive line-up of comedians: Dropout regulars Brennan Lee Mulligan, Ify Nwadiwe, and Paul F. Tompkins as well as Atsuko Okatsuka, Leslie Liao, Jamie Loftus, and a returning Gianmarco Soresi. And as the trailer reveals, there will be no lack of tricky stories and situations including serial killers, circumcision, incest, and much more.

Crowd Control premiers on September 8, 2025, with new episodes streaming every other week.
