“In the Corners” by Rushana

Given my recent interest in Джуна’s final album, I shouldn’t be too surprised that the almighty algorithms would serve up more Russian musicians for me to check out. But in this case, I don’t mind one bit.

Rushana Valieva, who describes her music as “Russian melancholy with bashkirian vibe,” released this live version of “In the Corners” last month. Whereas the original version on Any Second Now is more electronic in nature, the live version of “In the Corners” focuses instead on Rushana and her bandmate’s intricate, Radiohead-esque guitar work, not to mention Rushana’s lovely voice.
