Markobi Brings His FISM-Winning Act to Penn & Teller: Fool Us

And it’s so good, it actually makes Teller break his famous silence.

In 2022, French magician Markobi won first prize in the “Card Magic” category at FISM’s “World Championship of Magic.” His routine was an amazing display of card control and misdirection made all the more so by his apparent sloppiness and lack of skill, disheveled appearance, and dry humor.

It was only a matter of time, then, until Markobi would make an appearance on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, where the world’s leading magicians attempt to fool the famous magic duo. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say that Markobi’s performance is notable for being one of the very rare Fool Us performances that elicits an audible reaction from the famously silent Teller. (One other such performance was Alex Geiser’s coin magic routine back in 2018.)

Put simply, Markobi delivers a fantastically delightful routine that’s absolutely flawless despite all appearances to the contrary.
