My Internet access at home is still pretty spotty, which means that I’m still unable to reply to e-mail or post new reviews, etc. Hopefully, things will be back to normal early next week (or whenever Time Warner gets off its butt and installs a new cable modem). In the meantime, here are some totally random things that I’ve been meaning to post, but haven’t been able to until now.

I stumbled across this article at MetaFilter last week, and it’s an insightful and eye-opening read for anyone who considers themselves a Christian (especially one of those dreaded “evangelical” types). Titled “Everybody Hates Us”, it offers several reasons that sound pretty reasonable, such as “Christians endorse a high standard of conduct for others and then largely excuse themselves from a serious pursuit of such a life” and “We talk about God in ways that are too familiar and make people uncomfortable.”

A few weeks ago, I got called a “peacenik” because of my doubts concerning our nation’s aggressive actions. Linking to articles such as this one won’t do much to alleviate that label.

Unwed Sailor is going on tour in March.

Have you preordered the new Ester Drang album?

I finally installed Jaguar on my machine at work, as well as Safari, and so far I’m pretty impressed. If you’re a Safari geek, check out this site run by one of the program’s developers.

As always, these sites are always worth your patronage: AlmostCool, Relevant, Elastic Heart (how many times are you going to redesign that thing Aaron?!?), Pixelsurgeon, Fine Print, and the mighty Vagrant Cafe.

BTW… if you’re reading this on Valentine’s Day, you’re a bigger loser than I am. At least I’m going to see Daredevil with my roommate (who, though he is a strapping young man, is just a friend).

Thanks for your patience… we’ll be back soon.
