How to Stop LinkedIn From Using Your Data to Train AI

Another day, another tech company trying to cram AI down our throats. This time around, it’s LinkedIn. You know, the business social network that you never use. But on the odd chance that you do use it, just know that LinkedIn wants to use your data to train their generative AI models.

If you shudder at the thought of your account being used to train the same technology that spews out soulless slop, though, it’s easy enough to stop that from happening.

1. Log in to your LinkedIn account.
2. Click on your avatar in the header to view the “Account” menu.
3. Click on “Settings & Privacy” in the menu.
4. Click on “Data privacy” in the sidebar.
5. Click on “Data for Generative AI Improvement.”
6. Make sure that “Use my data for training content creation AI models” is set to “Off.”

After you’ve completed those steps, congratulations. There’s now one less company that’s using your data and content to further enshittify the internet.
