“Waiting for the Phone Call” by The Twilight Sad (feat. Robert Smith)

The Scottish band has announced plans for a 2026 tour.

Glasgow’s The Twilight Sad have been a frequent touring partner of The Cure — they opened for the goth icons when we saw them back in 2023 — and Robert Smith himself has called the Scottish band “consistently brilliant, emotional, intense, inspiring, entertaining.”

Thus, it’s no surprise that Smith lends his six-string to The Twilight Sad’s latest single. “Waiting for the Phone Call” is a thumping electronic number that finds James Graham’s thick brogue crying out against pulsing beats, stabbing synths, and turbulent guitars, Smith’s included.

In addition to their new single, The Twilight Sad will be headlining a UK/EU tour through April and May 2026; dates and info are on their website. They’ll also be opening for The Cure on various summer 2026 dates.
