Xn. vs. Sufjan Stevens

Xn.‘s cover of Sufjan Stevens’ “Vito’s Ordination Song” transforms the song into a mass of dirty guitar drones. As the song continues, it grows more claustrophobic and anxious, as if presenting an inverse of the lovely promise contained within the original’s lyrics. And yet, at the same time, the original chord progression still manages to glide through the cacophony, providing some semblance of refuge and calm in the midst of it all. Via BVL and Tofuhut
