00000011 by AutoVoice (Review)
As someone who completely digs modern sci-fi, my liking for industrial music comes natural. With its dense, dark, programmed sound, industrial music is truly the closest music genre that can be described as “futuristic.” 00000011, the eight song demo by Canadian duo AutoVoice, is the most “futuristic” sounding release done by a Christian band since Global Wave System.
The first three songs are classic techno-industrial dance in the vein of Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, early Deitiphobia, and the aforementioned Global Wave System, with Project DV-8 being the strongest. With the fourth track, “Infinitum,” the duo’s sound veers more toward experimental, with the robotic vocals of tracks five and six almost completely drowned out by machinery. You suddenly get the feeling you’re in some movie like Terminator or the latest Star Trek flick.
If this is just the beginning for these guys, I can’t wait to hear what else they’ve got.
