Techno! Techno! Techno! That’s the best way I know to describe this demo by synthwiz Ed Finkler. Definitely influenced by bands like Front 242, this six-song demo kicks off with the driving and satirical “Sock Monkeys.” This is followed by “Master V1,” the first in a trilogy of mixes of what is probably Jester’s most well-known song to date. The last song on side one is the hip-hop-influenced “Gana,” of which a newer version will appear on Full Frontal Lobotomy.
Side two includes the V2 and V3 versions of “Master,” separated by a brief, futuristic sounding track called “Posies.” The only warning I have is that a sample in “Master V1” exclaims “fu**ing s**t” and “God d**ned,” which may offend some listeners. Other than that, a great piece of techno-industrial!
