Evil Age by New Society (Review)

Arguably the best stuff from New Society since 1990’s True Faith cassette.

Arguably the best stuff from New Society since 1990’s True Faith cassette. Some tracks fall into mediocrity, but there are also a number of solid pieces on this 19-song release. It seems as if the band is still searching for their sound, though, as their influences remain apparent in a number of places. Songs inspired by Ministry, Depeche Mode, and The Cure can all be picked out with relative ease. Lyrically, the message is as up-front as ever, with topics remaining focused on current problems and their relation to biblical revelations. It’s good to hear growth with this band — the future looks quite bright for New Society.
