Although I had heard almost half of the songs from this already, nothing could prepare me for the full release! Throughout the album you’ll hear tracks that start off sounding techno, industrial, alternative-rock, acoustic, dreamy-pop, etc. — each done with a great deal of talent and creativity — and then the noisy guitars kicks in, gelling all those diverse elements into a smooth and cohesive whole.
But the icing on the cake (and what icing it is!) are the amazing female vocals. While they may turn off a lot of people looking for more of an edge, they are the single component that takes Aleixa off into a realm of their own. Ranging in style from childlike to harsh to powerful to gothy, these are some of the best vocals of any style that I’ve ever heard! This is easily the best example I can recall of utilizing many different musical styles, yet still sounding consistent and solid.
This album is guaranteed to make a big impact in ’96. Don’t miss it!
