Look Into My Eye by Kettleblack (Review)
After listening through this cassette, the strongest impression you’re left with concerns the quality level of the writing. Musically tight and lyrically original, writing good stuff is obviously their big strength.
As for a descriptIon of their sound…comparisons can be made to Filter at times and to Steve Taylor at other times, but to be more accurate you’d have to blend the two together and add a twinge of goth. A good but rather obscure comparison is to Spy Glass Blue.
They have managed to create their own musical style that is fairly accessible and should really catch on once people get to hear them more. On the other hand, anyone looking for a “pure” genre is likely to be left searching with this.
