Those of you disappointed by Circle of Dust’s disbanding, fear no more! This Michigan-based industrial group incorporates many elements of that now-legendary cybercore band and then some!
Starting with an intro before moving into the killer-sounding title track, crunchy guitar rifts, scary vocals, and eerie synth lines all mesh together to give the listener one heck of a soundscape. Some interesting issues are also addressed in these songs, especially “Geowaste,” which is a great reminder that Christians need to take a greater role in preserving the environment instead of letting the New Agers take all the credit.
Heavy, thought-provoking, and imaginative, Null really kicks!

After hearing “Invisible” on the Full Frontal Lobotomy compilation, my appetite was whet for some more intensive electro-industrial. My preconceived ideas were greatly expanded with Null.
The tape begins with “Realize,” a short guitar-less song driven by mechanical and bass effects with whispered vocals. The song “Null” begins with an electro intro, supersedes that with a touch of guitars while a few verses are spoken, then rips into sheer industrial intensity. Although several changes in the tempo do occur, it still shreds.
The other songs generally follow this pattern, traversing the spectrum of intense music between electro-dance and metal-thrash. It’s a bit like Fear of Faith and Eleven at times, music and lyrics-wise, although the vocals are less harsh and Millennia makes extensive use of electronics. Lyrics are saturated with rage and anger which might not appeal to all listeners of industrial music.
I’d really like to see Millenia sign a deal to put out a full-length CD.
