Straw by Mental Destruction (Review)

This could easily be their best release to date.

Mental Destruction’s latest offers heaps of scourging industrial chaos. The “music” is characteristically MD; lots of noise, harsh clangings, LOUD bangs, Ugly vocals, industrial wastelands. Unlike their previous albums, however, the vocals are far more mechanized and distorted than before. With only glimpses at their twisted sense of rhythm, MD offers an excursion into true “non-music.” Now, the digipak version of the CD is incredible! It far surpasses any of the packaging or artwork on other releases. It features a 20 page booklet including their often extremely poetic lyrics. This could easily be their best release to date.
