Wong Kar-Wai’s ode to unrequited love and passion has an uncanny way of sticking with you long after the credits.

This is definitely not a good movie but I still look back on it with fondness.

There’s a certain shameless morbidity to Game of Death.

A stylish hitman film that deserves a much better ending.

Unfortunately, the movie just can’t remain a sleek thriller, but has to throw in some melodrama.

At times you wonder how much of High Risk is poking fun at Jackie Chan and how much of it is savage satire.

This is cinematic frosting… all sweet and sugary, but ultimately fluff.

Let the masses have their Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I’ll take Duel to the Death any day.

While the visuals are inventive, don’t expect much from the dialogue and story, no matter how universal.

What makes this film so unpleasant, and yet so riveting, is its honest treatment of the story.

Yang is very content to let the scenes speak for themselves, without feeling a need to use dialog.

It’s not a classic by any means but it’s a far sight better than what I thought it would be.
