Carter by Jung Byung-gil (2022)
Carter is based on a gimmick: that it all takes place in a single take. It obviously doesn’t, but to achieve that effect, director Jung Byung-gil (The Villainess) relies on migraine-inducing camerawork and editing as well as some truly awful visual effects. It’s a shame because Carter has some cool ideas and incredible stunts, and lead actor Joo Won gives a committed performance (even and especially when he’s wearing nothing but a G-string). I’m actually kind of mad at the waste of time and talent this movie represents.
