I’m hard-pressed to think of a song with a more fitting title. Everything you hear in the opening track from vidnaObmana’s ambient masterpiece The River of Appearance imagines a visitation with something ethereal and heavenly. Using a simple-yet-pretty piano motif for the song’s foundation, Dirk Serries then layers on delicate guitar filigrees, field recordings, and some of the purest synthesizer drones this side of the pearly gates.

The resulting piece is supremely calming and reflective, the sort of song that immediately places you into a contemplative state of mind that’s perfect for communing with the sublime — or attempting to stave off a migraine.
