Netflix Announces Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure

Stranger Things may have ended last year, but Netflix clearly isn’t done with the franchise. Earlier this year, they released the animated Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 series, and now they’ve dropped an announcement teaser for Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure.

Given the title, the teaser’s imagery, and the setting in Marion, Nevada during the ’50s, I think it’s safe to say that Other Worlds will somehow concern UFOs and extraterrestrials. But how that all might fit in with the Upside Down and the broader Stranger Things universe remains to be seen.

On a side note, given that Stranger Things was originally envisioned as an anthology series, I do wonder if Other Worlds stems from some story idea that the Duffer Brothers — who are now working with Paramount instead of Netflix — might’ve had but dropped after the series landed at Netflix and became a single narrative.

Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure will begin streaming on Netflix in 2028.
