Weird Al Performs at NPR’s Tiny Desk

I continue to push for “Weird Al” Yankovic to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, but in the meantime, we’ve got this recent NPR Tiny Desk concert. (He previously performed at NPR back in 2010, and as he wryly notes, it only took them 16 years to invite him back.) Along with his band, Yankovic performs a four-song set that culminates in “The Saga Begins,” his Star Wars-themed parody of Don McLean’s “American Pie.”

As some of the commenters have noted, the folks behind the Tiny Desk concerts have really outdone themselves lately. Recent concerts have featured a truly eclectic blend of artists that includes Armand Hammer, Napalm Death, Laurie Anderson, Mannequin Pussy, and Kronos Quartet.
