Turnstile Takes Over NPR’s Tiny Desk

Turnstile’s Never Enough is shaping up to be one of 2025’s most acclaimed albums, garnering rave reviews in AllMusic, The Guardian, NME, and Pitchfork — to name a few — for its expansive and experimental approach to hardcore. The band recently brought their blistering sound to NPR’s Tiny Desk, and as the above video attests, they tore. It. Up.

Accompanied by piano, saxophone, and trumpet, the Baltimore band perform a five-song set that includes some of Never Enough’s biggest songs (“I Care,” the title track). The accompanists really elevate the songs, especially the title track, which is transformed into a wonderfully airy jazz number. And as an added delight, the NPR offices turn into a mosh pit during “Birds,” culminating in Brendan Yates’ stage dive — the very first one in Tiny Desk history.
