The Fight Returns in the First Trailer for Andor’s Second Season

The second (and final) season begins streaming on Disney+ on April 22.

Put simply, the first season of Andor was the best thing to happen to Star Wars in a very long time. Filled with solid performances (especially Stellan Skarsgård as Luthen Rael), a gripping storyline, and a revolutionary spirit, Andor injected some much-needed vigor into the iconic sci-fi franchise.

Needless to say, Andor’s second (and final) season has been eagerly anticipated here at Opus HQ. This first trailer doesn’t reveal too many plot points, but it clearly builds on the first season’s critical acclaim while also tying into the events of 2016’s Rogue One.

Given all of the political turmoil happening right now — an unelected bureaucracy cutting down swathes of the government with impunity and little accountability, a president with aspirations of becoming a king, and so on — I suspect that Andor’s second season will hit particularly hard and feel even more relevant than its first season.
