It’s Friday I’m in Low

The venerable slowcore band has been performing regular live sessions on Instagram during lockdown.
Low

We’re all trying to make do the best we can during these pandemic times. For some people, that means taking up a new hobby, planting a garden, getting in shape, or finally digging into that stack of books you’ve been meaning to read for awhile now. As for Low, that means doing what they’ve been doing best for the last three decades: making beautiful music.

Beginning in April, when the coronavirus lockdown began, Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker have performed 30 – 40 minute sets on Instagram every Friday. These sets have found the band revisiting songs from all of their albums, performing new and unreleased material, and interviewing fellow musicians like Chelsea Wolfe and Mikaela Davis. Oh, and showing off their gardening skills.

The website It’s Friday I’m in Low collects all of these sessions, with links to downloads and alternate places to watch the sessions, like this YouTube playlist.
