New Subscriber Playlist: “Artoffacts of Sound”

For well over two decades now, Artoffact Records has established itself as one of the world’s premier labels when it comes to the darker music genres. Launched in the late ’90s, the Toronto-based label has released music by some of the most influential names in the noise and industrial scenes, while also promoting newer generations of exciting artists.
This month’s playlist, titled “Artoffacts of Sound,” highlights just a few of the notable goth, post-punk, noise, industrial, synth-pop, and EBM titles that Artoffact Records has released over the years.
Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my “Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special, interesting, and/or meaningful. This month’s episode focuses on “Faith,” a surprisingly sacred song from experimental outfit Controlled Bleeding.
