The Cure Announce Novembre - Live in France 2022

While we all eagerly await the release of The Cure’s Songs of a Lost World — which was originally announced back in 2022 — Robert Smith and Co. have announced Novembre — Live in France 2022.

The 12″ single, which is being released in partnership with NAKED Record Club, features live recordings of two songs from the upcoming album: “And Nothing Is Forever” and “I Can Never Say Goodbye.” Both songs were recorded during The Cure’s 2022 “Shows of a Lost World” tour. Limited to 5,000 copies, Novembre will be available in both signed and unsigned versions.

Novembre — Live in France 2022 is currently available for preorder and will be released on October 1, 2024. All proceeds will be donated to EarthPercent, a charity that helps musicians “pledge a small percentage of their income to climate causes.”

As for the actual release of Songs of a Lost World, well.. this is Robert Smith that we’re talking about. The man has a long history of promising albums only to change them, push them back, or forget about them altogether. Smith has described the new album as emotionally draining — the songs on Novembre were inspired by the deaths of his father and brother — and has even re-recorded songs after performing them live.

I loved the new songs when I saw them performed last June, so I’m very excited to hear the final album — if and when it’s ever released. But I’m not exactly holding my breath.
