“Walk in the Forest Acid” by Pye Corner Audio

As Pye Corner Audio, Martin Jenkins is arguably best known for releasing dreamy forays into otherworldly hauntology on Ghost Box Records, beginning with 2012’s Sleep Games on through this year’s excellent The Endless Echo.

But as evidenced by “Walk in the Forest Acid,” Jenkins also has a clear affinity for classic acid house, stretching out his squelching synths, throbbing bass, and echoing spaces for nearly seven-and-a-half minutes of trippy, head-bobbing bliss.

Jenkins released a pair of acid-themed EPs back in January on Emotional Response, but I think “Walk in the Forest Acid” — which was released this past May — is a more satisfying example of Jensen’s acid explorations.
