Still Suffering - Klank

If there was ever a Christian recording that should carry a warning label this is it! It should read; “Do Not Listen TO This Without A Bottle of Excedrin.” In all fairness though, the solo debut from former Circle of Dust member Daren “Klank” Diolosa is one heavy duty piece of music. Song titles like “Downside,” “Animosity,” and “Disease,” a sleek, but dark cover of a figure resembling Hellraiser’s Pinhead, and the fact that the recording is on Tooth and Nail records do their best to inform the listener what type of recording this is, and it rocks!

Sporting a heavy, death metal influenced industrial-metal sound, Klank’s music best resembles Circle of Dust’s heaviest moments, White Zombie, and Marilyn Manson sound-wise. Lines like “Nuclear holocaust, is this our destiny? Destroy the future before it’s made!” and “I hate all this world and all it has to offer. If I had my way, I’d rather die!” clearly accent the album’s overall angry mood.

If, after hearing the closing track “Woddensoul,” you still aren’t satisfied, give the Downside EP a listen. Consisting of three remixes of “Downside” and two of “Animosity,” Scott Albert aka CELLDWELLER gives us his best industrial remixes since “Metamorphosis” some years back. Take a listen, if you dare!
