New Subscriber Playlist: “Bandcamp Clearinghouse”

I’ve never made any attempt to hide my appreciation for Bandcamp. More so than any other service, including Spotify and Apple Music, Bandcamp has expanded my musical horizons and helped me discover countless new artists — and even better, support them financially.
Bandcamp has also led to more than a few posts and reviews here on Opus, but for every artist or release that I write about, there are dozens that fall through the cracks simply because I don’t have enough time to cover them all. This month’s playlist — titled “Bandcamp Clearinghouse” — is an attempt to address that imbalance, with nearly two hours of songs from my Bandcamp catalog and wishlist.
Accompanying the playlist is the latest episode of my “Playlist Breakdown” podcast, in which I spotlight one of the playlist’s songs and why it’s so special, interesting, and/or meaningful. This month’s episode focuses on The Perfect English Weather’s “Only Shadows,” a breezy folk-pop gem that explores middle age regrets.
Both of these are little bonuses for subscribers who support Opus financially. If you’d like to get access to them (and more), subscribe to Opus for just $5.00/month or $50/year. (You can also subscribe for free and get my weekend newsletter.)
